At Motion Drives & Controls, we believe in giving back to our community, especially when it comes to supporting local initiatives that positively impact young people. That’s why we’re thrilled to share that our team recently took part in the Wolf Run—a gruelling outdoor event combining mud, water, and challenging obstacles—all to raise funds for Cleary’s Boxing Gym.
Cleary’s, a local gym in Leamington Spa, has been a beacon of hope for many young people. It offers them a safe and supportive space to train and develop their boxing skills. One of our employee’s sons trains at Cleary’s, and we’ve seen first-hand the incredible work the gym does for youth in the community. We knew we wanted to help, and the Wolf Run was the perfect way to bring people together for this cause.
We were honoured to have the support of the RWS Memorial Foundation. This is a foundation created in memory of Rob Spall, a passionate advocate for youth sports who sadly passed away last year. His son, Ash Spall, set up the foundation to carry on his father’s legacy, helping local sports clubs thrive. Ash was instrumental in making our Wolf Run challenge a success. He donated £20 for every person from our team who participated and also provided us with custom T-shirts to wear during the event.
Thanks to Ash’s generosity and the amazing efforts of our team and subequent private donations the Cleary’s Boxing Gym fundraiser currently stands at £780. This donation will go directly towards supporting the gym’s efforts to continue offering training and opportunities for young people in the area. The Just Giving page can be found here.
The Wolf Run was no easy feat, but it was an incredibly rewarding experience. Knowing that we were running not just for ourselves, but for the future of Cleary’s and the local community, gave us the motivation to push through the mud, obstacles, and exhaustion.
We’re immensely proud of what we’ve achieved, and we look forward to continuing to support causes like Cleary’s through future events.
